It’s back to work for newlyweds Erin Krakow and Ben Rosenbaum as filming of Season 13 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART begins!
“We got homesick. 😉 @wcth_tv is back in action filming Season 13!” Krakow posted with a clip of her and Kevin McGarry (Nathan), Hyland Goodrich (Little Jack) and Jaeda Lily Miller (Allie) walking hand-in-hand all in costume.
Speaking of costumes, WHEN CALLS THE HEART Instagram shared photos of Miller and Chloe McKinnon, who plays Lily, posing for the camera in early 1900s attire.
“Are you keeping up with the season thirteen fitting fun!? Be sure you’re following @barbaragregusova, our talented costume designer!” the post reads.
While details of the next season are under wraps, it is expected that Elizabeth will return to Hope Valley after leaving for Cape Fullerton to deal with her son’s health issues, with Nathan and his niece Allie joining her.
“I am so excited that we got to launch them toward Cape Fullerton to literally put them on new territory, but they’re also very much on new territory,” showrunner Joy Gregory said on the “Heart to Hearties” podcast. “Now they’re going to co-parent someone who has a chronic illness.”
Co-creator Brian Bird added to that saying that the unique struggles they face with Jack’s diabetes presents a preparation for (possible?) marriage as Nathan “gets thrown into the deep end of the parenting pool.”
“It’s a very powerful way to go deeper in your relationship, because it’s not just honeymoon period,” Bird said. “It’s real-life stuff that you have to both deal with. And even though Nathan’s not little Jack’s father yet, technically or legally, that doesn’t mean he can’t, you know, learn the skills that he needs.”

Meanwhile, love blossomed off the set as Krakow and Rosenbaum, who plays Mike Hickman, made the surprise marriage announcement on Instagram with a picture of the couple sharing a kiss and just an infinity sign in the caption.
“Beautiful pictures, beautiful friends, beautiful husband and wife – xo,” McGarry congratulated the newlyweds.
“I’m still crying. My favourite pairing!” McGarry’s wife and costar Kayla Wallace (Fiona) also wrote in the comments.
An exact date for the latest season for the long-running Hallmark series has not been set, but it will premiere in 2026. Meanwhile hearties can get their dose of romance with the spin-off series WHEN HOPE CALLS on Great American Pure Flix to help, as Bird puts it, make the “gap” between seasons of WCTH “seem maybe a little shorter.”
