More Detail:

The fourth season of EMILY IN PARIS sees Emily juggling her busy marketing career, social life, and increasingly complicated romances. Her friends and co-workers are dealing with their own problems, from new relationships and job opportunities to troubling rumors about someone in the fashion industry.

In Episode One, Emily deals with the fallout from last season’s events, when Camille left Gabriel at the altar, thinking he and Emily were still in love. Complicating matters, Camille is pregnant with Gabriel’s child and having an affair with a woman named Sofia. Camille’s declaration causes Emily’s boyfriend, Alfie, to break up with her.

A TikTok made by Camille’s brother blaming Emily for the break-up goes viral, possibly endangering Emily’s upcoming marketing campaign centered on love and featuring her and Alfie. The head of the company wants the couple to appear at the Paris Open and kiss on the arena’s big screen, and Emily scrambles to fix things with Alfie to keep her boss happy. They meet, and she asks him to attend the tennis match. Emily also wants to continue their relationship. Alfie asks her for more time.

The day of the Paris Open arrives, and Emily is still determining if Alfie will show up. He finally appears but tells her he has always been scared she will leave him for Gabriel and breaks up. The pair kiss and Alfie leaves. Later that night, Emily sees Gabriel, who tells her Camille has been missing since the wedding day.

Episode Two sees Emily searching for Camille. After seeing a social media post from Sofia, Camille’s lover, she assumes they’re in Greece together. However, Sofia calls and says she last saw Camille before the wedding. Emily tracks Camille’s phone GPS to Giverny, where the two talk, and Camille apologizes for using Emily as an excuse to leave Gabriel. She agrees to return to Paris, where Gabriel and Sofia await her.

Meanwhile, Emily’s friend Mind discovers that Louis de Lion, her boyfriend Nicolas’s father, has been misbehaving with female employees. She shares this information with Emily, who tells her boss, Sylvie, who has agreed to work with Louis on a new project.

In Episode Three, Emily and her co-workers prepare for a masquerade ball to promote a new fragrance. Alfie and Gabriel show up at the ball to win Emily’s affection. Emily chooses Gabriel, and they kiss.

While Emily juggles her job and romantic life, Sylvie must decide whether to talk to a reporter planning a story on Louis’ inappropriate behavior with female staff. She decides to do the interview, and the story is published, sending shockwaves through the Parisian fashion set.

EMILY IN PARIS has a very high production value. Each episode features fun fashion and beautiful shots of Paris and other French towns. The writing, while a bit soap opera-esque at times, is still fun, with entertaining plotlines for all the supporting cast.

While EMILY IN PARIS emphasizes friendship, compassion for others, and forgiveness, there are many inappropriate elements, including foul language, same-sex relationships, and alcohol use. While the series never shows a sex act, it’s implied and joked about often. Movieguide® advises caution for younger viewers.
