What You Need To Know:
GET CARTER is a forgettable R-rated thriller that’s not much fun to watch, even for those who like this genre. It certainly isn’t very enlightening, even though Stallone’s character establishes a friendly bond with his niece, and even gives her some good advice. It’s not that the acting isn’t any good, it’s just not adequate enough to bring these troubled characters to life. Stallone’s persistence in this movie may remind viewers of the persistence he displayed in the boxing scenes in the ROCKY movies. Finally, the movie includes a revenge theme, lots of strong foul language and a dark, sleazy aspect to the story. It does show restraint in the portrayal of its sexual undercurrents, however

GET CARTER stars Sylvester Stallone as Jack Carter, a Las Vegas thug who travels to Seattle to find out what happened to his dead estranged brother. The police report says his brother got drunk and wrecked his car, but Carter suspects foul play. His investigation leads to a crook, who runs a pornography business, and the multi-millionaire owner of a computer company. Meanwhile, Carter finds a better moral compass as he bonds with his niece, who plays an unexpected role in solving the crime.
