THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS, starring Will Smith and his real-life son, is based on the true life and struggles of Chris Gardner as he attempts to create a better life for himself and his young son. One of the most inspirational movies of the year, the movie puts forth a strong message about a parent’s commitment to their child and that with hard work and a belief in one’s self, great things can be accomplished.

SURF’S UP is a well-made, entertaining, animated family movie featuring a small penguin named Cody who wants to be a star surfer like his hero Big Z. MOVIEGUIDE® commends Sony for the quality of its animation and the uplifting conclusion but warns that the movie contains unnecessary bathroom humor.

THE FLINTSTONES is one of those rare family films which thoroughly entertains you--whether you are 5 years-old or 50. The plot revolves around a villainous rock-quarry executive, Cliff Vandercave (Kyle MacLachlan) who wants to embezzle the Slate & Co. by framing the gullible Fred Flintstone (John Goodman) who eventually learns through it all that family and friends are worth more than money. THE FLINTSTONES movie is full of good moral lessons: from the Dictabird teaching Fred that you must read what you sign, to a clear message that you should be faithful to your spouse. The final word from reviewers James (11) and Evelyn Baehr (5) is "Yabba-dabba-see-it."

THE FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS tells how Fred and Wilma, Barney and Betty get together, with help from an alien. The movie takes a slightly rocky road to virtue, including decency, honesty and marriage, with some scatological jokes, homosexual jokes and a politically correct attack on wealth.
