How Faith Helped Justin Bieber Overcome His Past: ‘I’m Forgiven’

As pop star Justin Bieber anticipates the release of his new album, “Justice,” the outspoken Christian wants to use his music to share his testimony and “inspire” his fans.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Bieber said that faith helped him come to peace with his controversial past as a young star.
“I just want to be somebody who can say, ‘Look, I did some things that I’m not too proud of, but I took a look in the mirror and decided to make some changes, and you can too,’” Beiber said.
Beiber is thankful for the many blessings God has given him and now recognizes as he lives his life for Christ. Bieber said that the best gift by far is “That I’m forgiven.”
“I just changed my priorities so that I didn’t [become] another statistic of young musicians that ended up, like, not making it,” Bieber said. “There was a time where I really did have my identity wrapped up in my career, but I really do have an overflow of feeling like my purpose is to use my music to inspire.”
One example of Bieber’s new songs is “Holy” that also features Chance The Rapper.

Bieber called the song “the start of a new era” for his music, hinting that future music will contain similar Gospel themes.
In a live-streamed Facetime call, Bieber connected with Chance the Rapper, who sings a verse featured in “Holy.” Bieber said several times that working with Chance was a “blessing.”
Chance is not shy about his faith and said that he is “grateful” for Justin Bieber’s perspective on Christ and His love that is encapsulated in “Holy.”
“It was about love and love within Christ and that it was, you know, written from the specific perspective that you’ve had,” Chance told Bieber during the live stream. “It talked about love in a way that you know that God is love.”
Jason Boyd, a longtime friend of Bieber, also recognized how Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin, is a blessing from God.
“God really blessed him with her,” Boyd told Billboard. “He could have ended up with anybody. To get a female who actually is equally yoked and as heavy into Christianity as he is, it’s really a blessing.”
