More Detail:

THE WINGFEATHER SAGA is an animated fantasy television series by Angel Studios. The series is based on the Andrew Peterson book franchise of the same name.

The story continues in Chapter 2, “A Mysterious Map.” The Igiby family lays low from the reptilian Fang authorities after speaking with a magical sea dragon in Chapter 1.

After two weeks of hiding, the Igibys resume their normal village routine. Janner, his two younger siblings, and his village friends play a game of Zibzy, a medieval version of soccer. Janner tries to impress Sara, a quaint village girl on the opposing team. Janner fumbles his words around her, but Sara finds him cute. She also coaches valuable Zibzy tips to Leeli, Janner’s younger, musically talented sister.

Later that day, Janner and his younger brother, Tink, volunteer at Books and Crannies, the town’s enigmatic bookstore. While tending the books, Tink finds a treasure map hidden underneath a secret compartment. Tink shares his discovery with Janner. The map reveals a hideout full of treasure just outside the village. Moreover, it reveals a hideout of the “Fang Fighters,” a group of secret freedom fighters.

Alarmed by this information, Janner tries to return the map to its place. However, Tink’s curiosity leads him to “borrow” said map for a while. The boys keep their discovery a secret from their neighbors.

Meanwhile, Slarb, a low-ranking Fang soldier, raises his suspicions on the Igiby family. In episode one, Leeli and her dog, Nugget, accidentally anger the reptilian guard. Slarb threatens to arrest them. Janner and Tink rescue their sister, knock out the soldier, and flee the scene. He vows to rat out the Igiby children and alert the ranks of the Fang military.

The story continues in Chapter 3, “The Catacombs Below.” Leeli helps Janner in his dating life. Janner asks Sara if she could do a nature study session at the bridge. Janner fumbles his greeting but gives Sara a gift: his own handmade flower necklace. Impressed by his honesty, Sara accepts the date.

Meanwhile, Tink further studies the treasure map. He and Janner discover the existence of the “Florid Sword,” a legendary man who worked with the anti-Fang resistance. Janner is hesitant about the expedition, but Tink insists they both find the mythical fighter.

Later that night, the Fang soldiers kidnap the town’s human children. Slarb, who is assigned to this duty, decides to kidnap Sara as revenge on Janner’s family. The next day, Janner meets Slarb at the town bridge. Slarb dangles Sara’s flower necklace in front of Janner’s face. Slarb leaves Janner with a warning: the Igiby children are the next target.

Meanwhile, Grandfather Podo Igiby and his daughter, Nia, visit the town mayor. The family receives terrible news: the Fang soldiers are kidnapping children all across the country. The mayor refuses to keep the Igiby family safe. Podo and Nia resolve to push back against the Fang. However, the mayor drops a bombshell: the leaders of the Fang are seeking a mythical jewel of immense power. Slarb eavesdrops on the conversation. He raids the Igiby residence and finds a piece of the family’s rare yet powerful jewel.

Later, Janner is heartbroken over Sara’s capture, but vows to rescue her from the Fang. With Tink’s treasure map, Janner’s best chance for success is finding help at the anti-Fang hideout. Janner, Tink and Leeli make their way to Ankle Jelly Manor, a decrepit mansion full of treasure and clues on how to defeat the Fang. However, a pack of vicious wolves corner the three siblings inside a vault. Can the siblings escape from their predicament?
