Former wrestling star Mr. T recently shared how he asks God to help him spread the gospel.
“Don’t just say, ‘I’m going to church on Sunday.’ We are the church, and wherever we go, we’re supposed to tell people — when I pray, I say, ‘Lord, I pray that when they see me, let them see You. I pray that when they hear me, let me hear You,’” he told TBN.
Mr. T said he gives all the glory to God, explaining, “Every time somebody tries to ego-stroke me, I say, ‘I just thank God.’”
“I used to think I was something,” he concluded. “I know I’m something now. I’m a child of God.”
While competing on DANCING WITH THE STARS in 2017, Mr. T shared his testimony, saying, “Back in the day, I had money, cars. I had achieved what I wanted to achieve, and then everything really stopped.”
“I called on God,” he continued. “I said, ‘God, give me strength to do your will.’ That’s when it really hit me: What’s really real? My faith in God, that was real, because only God could save me.”
In an interview with BeliefNet, Mr. T elaborated, saying, “Each time my faith gets stronger and stronger. And the real test of my faith [was when] I had to go through my Job test in 1995, when I was diagnosed with cancer.”
“I am a sinner who has been saved by grace. It’s by the grace of God that I’m here,” he continued. “We all have sinned and fallen short on God’s glory. I come home and I ask God to forgive me for my sins. Everyday I ask for a new cleansing. I say, ‘God, let me show kindness to someone, let me give someone hope. Let me be a light at the end of a tunnel for somebody.’ I tell people, they say I’m a farmer, I plant the seed of hope, plant the seed of inspiration, plant the seed so they can start praying and believing again.”
Mr. T often shares his faith and has even delivered sermons at his local church.
“Being Invited to Preach at My Own Church Next Sunday, October 9,” he tweeted in 2022. “It’s A Great Honor and A Awesome Responsibility. Which I Don’t Take Lightly. God Willing, I’ll plan to do my very Best!”
He continued, “So while some are busy bringing up my Past, I’ll be busy looking to My Future. Thanking God for His Grace and His Mercy. Because ‘If Any man be in Christ He is a New Creature’!”

The former wrestler also shares his faith on social media, posting on Instagram, “God is good. God is great. I am a living Witness. #blessed.”
Mr. T’s prayer is an excellent reminder of our responsibility to share God’s word with others.
