Melissa Gilbert, known for her childhood role on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, will star in WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 13.

The actress shared the news on Instagram on Aug. 12, showing fans the cover of her WTHC script, which was for episode 6.

“Heading back to #hopevalleynext week. Going to play with my pals,” Gilbert wrote. “… Can’t Wait!”

Gilbert tagged some of her co-stars, including Jack Wagner, Erin Krakow, Ben Rosenbaum, Kevin McGarry, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith.

McGarry teased, “No one gives me scripts! What do I say in episode 6?”

“Can’t wait to have sooo much fun with you, @melissagilbertoffical! 🎉🤗 See you in Hope Valley!” said Hyland Goodrich, who portrays Little Jack Thornton.

One fan said, “So excited to see Georgie again!”

“My heart is so happy!!” another said.

“Cannot wait to see you back in Hope Valley. Charming everyone there and all of us….of course being tough and courageous as well,” another commented.

Like LITTLE HOUSE, WHEN CALLS THE HEART takes place in a historical setting.

Season 13 takes place in the early 1920s in Hope Valley, a small town in Canada.

Gilbert’s post confirms her character, Georgie McGill, will enter Season 13 in episode 6. Her character made her first appearance in Season 12 earlier this year.

The show revealed Georgie as a forensic inspector who had a past with Bill Avery. The two characters had some romantic tension when we last saw them, Good Housekeeping reported.

Krakow revealed filming started last month.

She said, “We got homesick. @wcth_tv is back in action filming Season 13!”

Earlier this year, Gilbert wrote a tribute for her LITTLE HOUSE co-star, Jack Lilley, who played a carriage driver on the show. He “passed peacefully” on March 19 at 91.

Gilbert wrote on Instagram, “The little house family has lost one of our own. Jack Lilley has passed away. He was 91 years old.”

“He also happened to be one of my favorite people on the planet,” she wrote. “He taught me how to ride a horse when I was just a wee little thing. He was so patient with me. He never said no when I would bound up to him squealing, ‘Can we go ride? Please, please, please?'”

“Jack always felt like home to me,” she added. “He lived quite a life. I am so lucky that he was my friend.”

A LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE reboot is in the works for Netflix. So far, none of the original cast has been asked to guest star, but Gilbert and other LITTLE HOUSE cast members are supportive of it.

Gilbert said the show will “do things that we didn’t get to do necessarily so easily in the ’70s.”

WTCH Season 13 and the LITTLE HOUSE reboot are expected to release sometime next year.
