Former BACHELOR host Chris Harrison just announced a new dating show that will focus on promoting “traditional marriage,” a positive step that has gained criticism from some people.
“It’s time to help people find love again,” Harrison posted last week, alongside the casting call for the show, tentatively called TRADITIONAL LOVE.
“Now Casting: Dating for a Traditional Marriage. Chris Harrison is back — hosting a brand-new dating series,” the casting call reads.
It continues, “A prominent streaming service is casting single men and women (21+) who want a traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values. We’re looking for singles who believe in clear roles, long-term commitment, and building a life together — and who are dating with real intention.”

People in the comment section shared mixed opinions.
“This is weird,” one person said, while another added, “I’m sorry this is giving MAGA😭”
Others appreciated the news. “I stopped watching THE BACHELOR when you left. Can’t wait to watch this!” one fan said. Another added, “Should just call it ‘The Right Reasons.’”
This is Harrison’s first time back as a dating show host after his exit from THE BACHELOR in 2021, which he hosted for 19 years.
He recently told TMZ, “I will be coming back to TV to do what means the most to me: helping people find love. I want to do a show that is actually about finding that true love. I think that’s been lost, and I think we all want it back. Will there be drama along the way? Absolutely, but in the end it will always be about love.”
Content like this that celebrates traditional marriage grows increasingly more important.
Pew Research revealed that Americans value marriage less than previous years, and traditional marriage is not viewed as important by many.
“The share of U.S. adults who are currently married has declined modestly in recent decades, from 58% in 1995 to 53% today. Over the same period, the share of adults who are living with an unmarried partner has risen from 3% to 7%,” the group said in 2019.
What is even more concerning is many Christians believe living together while unmarried is acceptable. “About three-quarters of Catholics (74%) and white Protestants who do not self-identify as born-again or evangelical (76%) say it’s acceptable for an unmarried couple to live together even if they don’t plan to get married. By contrast, only 47% of black Protestants and 35% of white evangelical Protestants share this view,” Pew said.
As the world continues to devalue the family unit and marriage, it’s a good sign that some are refocusing on traditional marriage.
