HOUSE OF DAVID star Michael Iskander just gave fans some insight into the show’s second season.
“David’s got a complex story,” he told Movieguide®. “And this season, he is becoming a warrior. He goes from this innocent little shepherd boy to [a] man of blood, and famously, Saul kills thousands. David kills tens of thousands. So, what does it look like for a shepherd boy to kill tens of thousands of people?”
Iskander continued, “We dive into that. We show his journey. From the first episode to the last episode, we’re seeing a different side of him.”

The actor also spoke about Season 2 of HOUSE OF DAVID with TV Insider, saying the new episodes are “filled with so much. Every episode has something immense that happens in it. So it’s, yeah, it’s just really amazing to finally get to have those conflicts.”
He also teased Season 3 — “I don’t know what is to come for Season 3. But, I mean, famously, we know from scripture the three phases of David: shepherd, warrior and king. We’ve seen the shepherd. You’ve seen the warrior now. What does it look like to be a king? What does it look like to be a leader? What does it look like to show other people around you the way to go?”
“I think doing Season 3 would be the culmination of that, which is learning what it is to actually truly lead a flock and be in the front, be the one taking the risks, being the one to show them the way to go, being the one that is the light,” Iskander added.
Iskander has previously spoken about what it’s been like to portray David, telling Faithwire, “I think David is one of the most interesting people because…there’s so much duality in him. He’s the epitome of what it means to be human, to make mistakes, but to truly have a heart for God — and a heart that seeks after God’s own heart.”
“I always thought of David being so courageous … so brave, but there’s none of that without fear,” he continued. “And finding all the stakes of what it means to be the only person from your entire people to choose to go up against the scariest man they have ever faced … and are you willing to truly give up everything in your life to protect the ones you love?”
Season 2 of HOUSE OF DAVID is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
