Candace Cameron Bure reminds us not to get so swept up in our daily lives that we forget to prioritize our relationship with God.
“I’ll also say that to the church, and I say it to myself as well,” she said during a recent episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.” “Don’t be so distracted in the things that we’re doing for the church, or for Christ, that we’re actually missing doing it with Him and waiting upon Him.”
Bure added, “We can be busy within church culture, we can be busy doing things, but missing the very reason why we’re busy.”
In an essay written for The Gospel Coalition, Pastor Adam Mabry, who is also the author of The Art of Rest, covered the same topic, writing, “To fall into the trap of perpetual busyness is to confuse the God of the Bible with the god of this world. They’re not the same.”
“The God of Scripture isn’t impressed by busyness; He’s moved by love,” he continued. “When we remember He loves us and, at the end of all our work, we utterly depend on Him for everything, we can rest well. Really well. It’s the god of this world who is the author of a system where busyness is a status symbol.”
Bure recently announced an exciting upcoming project — a new book, a devotional titled 100 Days of Joy and Strength.
“I know that life can feel heavy sometimes,” she said in an Instagram video. “We all need a reminder of God’s love and His strength in our lives, and each day in this devotional offers encouragement, Bible verses, and prayer prompts to help you stay grounded and hopeful, even in the midst of life’s challenges.”
Bure is also working on another project, announcing to fans on Instagram, “‘Tis the season to make a Christmas movie!” along with a photo of her on set in a red coat.
The actress didn’t reveal what movie she’s working on, but Bure is set to star in GAF’s TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY, coming out later this year.

Bure’s packed schedule is a reminder that there’s nothing wrong with being busy — as long as you’re centering your faith in your life.
