GOD’S COUNTRY SONG’s Coffey Anderson Reflects on God’s Presence in Pain: ‘So Good’

Country artist Coffey Anderson recently joined the “Higher Ground” podcast, where he reflected on faith, family and God’s goodness amid life’s struggles.

“My faith has always given me a chance — and this platform has given me a chance…to talk about the goodness of God. God has been so good to me,” he shared on the podcast. “God has been there. Sometimes we forget about the goodness of God, so my music is a reflection of what I’ve been through.”

Anderson believes in God’s goodness despite going through some extremely difficult experiences.  Faithwire reported that he lost his best friend to suicide as a teenager, and his wife has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

His wife Criscilla “…continues to battle nodules that transferred from her colon to her lungs. She’s not ‘out of the woods’ and courageously forges on toward healing,” Faithwire adds.

Their family continues to hold onto God, remaining hopeful for the future.

Most recently, Coffey Anderson starred in Pure Flix’s new movie GOD’S COUNTRY SONG.

Movieguide®’s review reads, “GOD’S COUNTRY SONG is an irresistibly rousing movie on Pure Flix about a troubled country singer who struggles with alcohol abuse. As Noah Bryan’s star is just about to rise in the exciting Nashville recording scene, a past relationship and an alcohol addiction are grabbing him by the heels to hold him back from his goals. Noah has some choices to make.”

Anderson shared some of his throughs about the movie on the podcast, saying, “There’s nothing toxic about being masculine. There’s nothing toxic about being a good daddy. And there never will be.”

“A dad is needed. So this movie, GOD’S COUNTRY SONG, talks about that relationship and how to get there even if you’re flawed,” he concluded.

Movieguide® previously reported on Anderson’s involvement with the project:

Country star Coffey Anderson, who stars in the new PureFlix movie GOD’S COUNTRY SONG, shared why he wants to use uplifting content to prepare the next generation.

Whether through his music career or now his roles on screen, Anderson said that he wants to contribute to having  more positive movies and TV.

“I jumped into this project because I’m a dad that’s a believer, and I want more content like this on their phones,” he told The Christian Post. “I want more content like this on our television. So what better way to get them to watch it than have their daddy in it?”
