Disney Breaks Promise to ‘Not Promote an Agenda’

By Movieguide® Contributor

In April, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, told the media that Disney’s “mission isn’t to promote an agenda but rather to entertain.”

Movieguide® reported:

“Our job is to entertain first and foremost, and by telling great stories, we continue to have a positive impact on the world and inspire future generations, just as we’ve done for over 100 years,” he continued.

“I’ve always believed that we have a responsibility to do good in the world, but we know our job is not to advance any kind of agenda,” he said during an April 3 shareholder meeting. “For as long as I’m in the job, I’m going to continue to be guided by a sense of decency and respect, and we’ll always trust our instincts.”

“Disney has always been and will continue to be a source of hope, joy and optimism for people of all ages. We’re committed to telling stories that reflect the world around us and using those stories to entertain people from all walks of life,” Iger said.

Well, Iger’s vow didn’t last long because Disney just announced a new transgender clone trooper in the book, “The Secrets of the Clone Troopers.”

According to an X account, Star Wars Holocron, “THE SECRETS OF THE CLONE TROOPERS includes a first look at Sister, a trans woman clone trooper.

“Rex’s description of Sister in the book reads: ‘When one of our kind expressed her gender identity differently than her fellow troopers, she featured she’d have to hide who she truly was inside. Fortunately, her brothers in the 7th Sky Corps gave her the name Sister as a constant reminder that she belonged,'” the account added.

Per Breitbart, “‘Sister’ was first introduced in the Star Wars young adult novel ‘Queen of Hope.’ What we know, according to the report, is that he ‘served alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Commander Cody in the Clone Wars and … once held some reservations about whether the Jedi would accept [his] transgender status.'”

Many followers of Star Wars Holocron expressed their frustration with what Disney has done to their beloved series.

“Is anyone else wondering just how bad it can get? We keep hitting levels where I say ‘Surely this is the lowest they’ll let Star Wars go’ and they blow right past it the next day like it’s nothing,” one person wrote.

“And they wonder why Star Wars projects keep failing,” another said.

One comment read, “What happened to the franchise I love.”

“I can’t wait for Nov the 5th so we can have a Crusades 2.0 and purge this kind of garbage from our industries,” another person wrote.

So, now the question remains: are Bob Iger and Disney trying to push an agenda on their viewers?
