Tim Tebow Reflects on Easter: ‘Greatest Love Story in the History of the World’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Tim Tebow is reminding us of the true meaning of Easter.
“Remember what it’s really all about,” he said while appearing on Fox News. “It is about the greatest love story rescue mission in the history of the world: when Jesus put on flesh and He came to the cross and He did for us what we could not do for ourselves, and He loves us enough to do it.”
He and wife Demi-Leigh also spoke about their partnership with Nehemiah Manufacturing, a company that is working to “build brands, create jobs and change [the] lives” of people who might struggle finding work, like those with criminal records.
“Yes, it’s a manufacturing company, and they do an incredible job with everyday products that all of us use in an incredible way,” Tebow explained. “But what’s special about it is that people and why we should believe in second chances is because Grace gave us all a second chance first, and we need to so believe in giving people a second and a third and a fifth and an eleven-teenth chance. Because that’s what Grace is all about.”
Demi-Leigh explained how Nehemiah Manufacturing works to achieve its goals.
“They have eight pillars that they use to walk alongside all of their employees, to come alongside them, to help them to be able to write that comeback story,” she said. “They provide financial support, continued education, things to the extent of affordable housing to their employees.”
Demi-Leigh continued, “When we look at Jesus’s story, when, as believers, we see what he has done for us, especially on a day like today [Easter Sunday] how can we not but want to come alongside people and support them the way that we are supported?”
Tebow is dedicated to his humanitarian work, specifically his work fighting child sexual abuse and human trafficking. Movieguide® previously reported:
Tim Tebow spoke in front of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance about working to protect the vulnerable from sexual abuse.
“So grateful for the chance to testify this morning before the House Judiciary Committee, meet, and talk with representatives on both sides of the aisle on behalf of some of the most vulnerable people – children who are victims of sexual abuse and exploitation,” Tebow said.
“Identifying and rescuing these children is so much more than policy,” he continued. “Policy is important, but our focus has to stay on people. They deserve our best because God set the example and gave His very best, His son Jesus. 🙏”
The hearing focused on the increased spread of child sexual abuse materials that are proliferated online. Tebow implored lawmakers to create a bill that would support a rescue team task force to identify and rescue victims of sexual abuse and exploitation.
This task force would continue the work that Tebow has already started through his nonprofit’s “Rescue Them” operation. Throughout a decade of work, the foundation has rescued over 3,500 people across 32 countries.
