By Movieguide® Staff

FINDING YOU’s Jedidiah Goodacre is set to star in a new horror flick, MARGAUX, with Movieguide® Award-winning producer Brad Krevoy.

Starring alongside Goodacre is Jordan Buhat, Phoebe Miu and Lochlyn Munro.

“A group of college friends rent a smart house for a weekend of partying. Later, they start to realize that Margaux, the house’s super advanced AI system, has sinister designs for them,” the IMDb description reads.

Krevoy won the Epiphany Prize® for Inspiring Television Program for his work on the Hallmark standout WHEN CALLS THE HEART.

Goodacre previously starred in FINDING YOU, a wholesome romantic comedy with biblical themes.

A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:

FINDING YOU is a romantic drama. When Finley doesn’t do well in her violin audition, she decides to visit Ireland for inspiration. On the plane, Finley sits next to Beckett, a Hollywood heartthrob who’s shooting a movie in the same small Irish town she’s visiting. Finley judges Beckett as having a big ego. When she gets to the Bed and Breakfast where she’s staying, she finds Beckett’s also staying there. Meanwhile, Finley finds an old sketchbook where her late brother drew a local cross he found. Finley longs to find the cross and the peace her brother had before he died.

FINDING YOU is a fun, wholesome movie. The storyline is a typical romance, and the acting isn’t award winning, but the movie’s enjoyable. FINDING YOU has a strong Christian worldview about loving and helping others, forgiveness, finding peace in the Cross of Christ, and seeking purpose and meaning in life beyond fame and fortune. FINDING YOU shows a wholesome romantic relationship media-wise viewers will enjoy. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children because of light, brief foul language and a bar scene.

Although Movieguide® cannot advise on the content of MARGAUX, horror movies like THE CONJURING and ANNABELLE do emphasize faith content.

Movieguide®’s review of THE CONJURING reads

THE CONJURING is a powerful horror thriller based on a true story. Even better, it makes its Christian lead characters unabashed heroes and forcefully presents a Christian worldview. The movie is truly scary, however, so strong caution is advised. That said, the Christian heroes rely on the Bible and prayer to defeat demonic evil. Also, a quote from Mr. Warren at the end says the destiny of each person and the whole world depends on whether we choose to serve God or the Devil. Despite its scares, THE CONJURING is strongly redemptive.

Horror movie actor Patrick Wilson previously told Movieguide®:

“The faith element not only cannot be ignored, it defined [the Warren family].”

Wilson plays Ed Warren in the sequel to ANNABELLE and ANNABELLE: CREATION.

“[The Warrens’] Catholic faith was something super important to them. So, that’s been important for us to, regardless of our own experiences of religion growing up. You don’t see that in a lot of films. We always approach the [movie material], whether it’s an exorcism or a prayer with the same respect that I that I would growing up reading the Bible.

“I think you can’t run from that; just like you can’t run from the evil that we embrace in these movies. You also can’t run from the positive spiritual side. I think when faith-based groups respond to the movies, and we’re not apologizing for it. It’s nice to see,” Wilson says.
