"More Like a Miss"
What You Need To Know:
KISS OF THE DAMNED is a stupid, overly sexual vampire movie. The paper-thin plot follows a normal man who meets a mysterious woman. She turns out to be a vampire. Even after he learns this, the man insists on sleeping with her, even though she will make him a vampire. After sleeping together, the couple chases animals for food until the woman’s evil vampire sister shows up. The sister says she’s under orders from the vampire queen to stay with them until she can be relocated, because she’s on the run from her past bad behavior. The sister tries to drive a wedge between the couple by seducing the man and luring unaware humans into their home and killing them.
KISS OF THE DAMNED has everything bad in spades – terrible acting, laughable dialogue, a painful music score, and pathetic writing and direction. It’s morally debased and doesn’t work on any artistic level. It fails to deliver any real scares and piles on loads of gore. The occult worldview is never morally challenged. All moviegoers, not just media-wise viewers, will want to avoid KISS OF THE DAMNED.
(OOO, HoHo, LL, VVV, SSS, NN, AA, DD, MMM) Very strong occult worldview, plus implied homosexual vampirism; 12 obscenities and profanities; very strong gory violence includes numerous shots of vampires biting into the necks of normal humans are shown, with their bites pulling out graphic chunks of internal organs and flesh, causing blood to spew and to drench the bodies and clothes of their victims, several confusing montages where vampires are shown chasing wild animals to catch and eat them and with blood getting all over themselves; very strong sexual content includes numerous fornication scenes and oral sex, plus implied lesbian behavior by female vampire against one victim; upper female nudity, rear nudity; alcohol use and drunkenness; one character snorts cocaine several times; and, evil female vampire breaks even the limited code of ethics the vampires are supposed to follow, killing wantonly and lying to others about all manner of behavior to cover her tracks, conspiracies between characters to ruin each other’s lives abound, including the most evil female vampire lures a young blonde female virgin to the queen vampire’s home and leaves her there with the queen vampire to make sexual advances on her and kill the virgin.
KISS OF THE DAMNED is a stupid, overly sexual love triangle between a female vampire, her more-evil sister, and a human male who gets involved with them both. KISS has a highly occult worldview and is a ridiculously trashy attempt at a horror movie that’s too poorly made to take seriously, yet highly offensive nonetheless.
The paper-thin plot follows a regular human man who meets a mysterious woman in a video store who turns out to be a vampire. Even after he learns this, he insists on having sexual relations with her and accepts as inevitable that she also will turn him into a vampire. The couple aimlessly sleeps together and chase animals for food until the woman’s evil vampire sister shows up. She says she must live with them for a week under orders from their queen, until she can be relocated to Phoenix and a new vampire family, all because she’s on the run from some past bad behavior she committed.
During the course of the week, the sister tries to drive a wedge between the main couple by sleeping with the man and luring unaware humans into their home and killing them. Her goal is to seize control of the family mansion from her sister. Ultimately, however, her evil actions lead to her own demise while ruining the relationship of the main couple when the man admits he had cheated on the female vampire sex with her sister. Everyone winds up losing what they have, but this is no morality tale.
KISS OF THE DAMNED has everything bad in spades – terrible acting, laughable dialogue, a music score that’s painful to hear, and utterly pathetic direction by Xan Cassavetes, who also wrote this mess. It is not only morally debased, but doesn’t work on any artistic level either, even lacking the ability to be frightening at any point while piling on loads of gore and extreme sexual content. Its occult worldview is never morally challenged. All moviegoers, not just media-wise viewers, will want to avoid KISS OF THE DAMNED.
