I AM LOVE

What You Need To Know:

I AM LOVE is an Italian movie. It stars Tilda Swinton in an acclaimed performance as Emma, a Russian immigrant who has married into a wealthy Italian family. When the family patriarch retires, the entire family is shocked when he turns over joint control of the company to not only his son but also his grandson. The son’s wife, Emma, fights to keep her family intact as her daughter reveals she is a lesbian and as her husband and son disagree over the future direction of the family business. Soon, Emma is swept up into a love affair with her son’s best friend. The revelation of their affair, coupled with the diverging opinions about the future of the family business, threatens to destroy the family dynasty from the inside out.

I AM LOVE is a weird, disjointed movie with strange directing choices, undeveloped plot points and a pagan, adulterous story. The actor’s performances are passable, but the movie’s character development is poor and lacks continuity. The movie’s immoral, lewd content is abhorrent. There are many reviews of much better, more acceptable foreign language movies on our website at movieguide.org.
