More Detail:

Hoping to solve the mystery surrounding his brother’s death, Frank Flynn ventures to tropical Vanatu and becomes obsessed with Anna Vivaldi, the wife of the island’s most powerful man. When Frank is told that his brother was murdered by local “Kanak” tribesmen, he becomes suspicious of the former business partner, Robert Vivaldi. Frank is enamored of Anna, yet commendably, the two do not fall into an adulterous relationship. Frank discovers evidence that incriminates Vivaldi. He and Anna flee the island in an airplane. When the plane crashes, Frank and Anna are captured by Kanak warriors. Now shielded from Vivaldi and his mob, the twosome develop a rapport with the tribe.

TIL THERE WAS YOU is a tidy, understated action-adventure film. Moviegoers should be warned, however, of naturalistic nudity among the Kanaks. Their women are often bare-breasted and men wear little else than a codpiece. In one scene, the tribesmen initiate a male bonding ritual in which each warrior approaches Frank and grabs his genitals. The song for which the film was named has nothing to do with the story. The trend seems to be name your movie after popular songs from the baby boomer generation.
