GAF CEO Bill Abbott Reveals Network’s Exciting Future Projects

By Movieguide® Contributor

Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Family, personally updated fans on some of the network’s exciting upcoming projects.

“It has been an extremely busy few weeks as we prepared our schedule for August through December and completed the final edits to some of the many movies that will premiere over the coming months,” Abbott said in an email to those on the Great American Family mailing list. “I want to thank all of you who have reached out – your notes warm my heart and continue to strengthen us in our mission to provide great faith & family content.”

Following the successful premiere of the new movie THE ABIGAIL MYSTERIES, Abbott shared that fans can expect a series.

“We really hope you enjoyed the premiere of THE ABIGAIL MYSTERIES two weeks ago,” he wrote. “The reaction from viewers has been so positive that it is our plan to make this into a series of movies that you can enjoy over the next few years.”

THE ABIGAIL MYSTERIES is an original mystery movie by Great American Family.

A Movieguide® gave it a +3 content score. Part of the review reads:

“After suffering a miscarriage that caused her marriage to break up, Abigail Broukes returns to her hometown of Prescott, Arizona. Abby is the host of a true crime podcast that’s suffering a ratings downturn in its second season. Her grandfather pastors a local church, but Abigail’s own faith has taken a hit. Her faith starts to return when some biblical clues lead her to investigate an elderly neighbor’s mysterious death. Abby suspects murder, but her childhood friend, a male cop named Matt, is skeptical because the coroner has ruled the death a heart attack.”

Abbott also shared that other movies will air in the coming month. These include STEPPING INTO LOVE, which airs August 19, STRONG FATHERS STRONG DAUGHTERS on August 21, DREAM WEDDING, which airs August 26, and 10 STEPS TO LOVE  on August 28.

He also shared a sneak peek into what viewers can expect at Christmas.

“We are all looking forward to Great American Christmas Year 3, and I want to let you know that DESTINED FOR CHRISTMAS 2 (to be formally titled DESTINED AT CHRISTMAS) turned out really well, and both Casey Eliot and Shae Robins are wonderful in the movie! We are thrilled their story continues and I believe you will love the new story!

“Enjoy the remainder of the Summer and let us know what we are doing right, and equally important, where improvement is needed. I have great respect for your opinions and really care what you think about how we are doing!” Abbott concluded.

Movieguide® previously reported on GAF’s fall lineup:

While summer isn’t over yet, Great American Family just announced that their second annual “Great American Autumn” event returns September 2 with new movies, fan-favorite actors and fun fall stories.

Actors including Trevor Donovan, Jessica Lowndes, Danica McKellar, Jodie Sweetin, Camilla Belle and more will hit screens across America as families enjoy their latest movies.

The lineup includes seven new features.

1. Movieguide® recently reported on the first film, “LEARNING TO LOVE: “Harry (Philip Boyd) and his two daughters lost their faith and have struggled to connect since losing their mom. But when they are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of Steph (Ina Barrón), who floods their home and hearts with warmth, positivity and faith.” A Pure Flix original, this movie will premiere on cable TV Saturday, September 2.”
