HAWKEYE star Jeremy Renner is down to play in HAWKEYE Season 2, even though Marvel offered him half of the salary he got in Season 1.

At Florida Supercon, he said he’s “happy to do Season 2.”

“I love that character,” he said of his role as archer Clint Barton. “I think there’s so much for us to do.”

“I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking,” the Marvel star added.

HAWKEYE Season 1 came out on Disney+ in 2021.

In May, he said that he’d been offered “half” of his previous salary to star in Season 2.

“I’m like, It’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,“ Renner said.

In 2023, Renner survived a near-fatal snowmobile accident. He broke 38 bones and sustained other injuries, Men’s Health reported.

He joked about Disney being “penny pinchers.”

“Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over?” he jested.

He said of resuming his role, “It’s getting my body right. The timing of that will come, and if there’s still a need, want, and desire for it, then yeah.”

HAWKEYE gave Renner the opportunity to “dive more into the character a bit, in a world that’s more grounded,” he said of Clint, AKA Hawkeye, who first appeared in THOR. “I always wanted to do more of that stuff, and there’s the incident that happened, and I have to get my body in shape to be able to sling arrows again and dive around and do all that stuff, but I’ll get there. I’m doing good.”

In the meantime, Renner has been busy with the Paramount+ drama MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN and an upcoming KNIVES OUT movie, WAKE UP DEAD MAN.

Renner is doing remarkably well since his accident, but his body still struggles.

“Look, I’m 53. I’m on the downslide of trying to gain muscle,” he told Men’s Health earlier this year. “You get atrophy, testosterone level’s at 300, no growth hormone in me at all — everything’s going on a downslide. Protein helps with the muscles, so I’m on a higher-protein diet.”

He told The Guardian in July that his mouth still feels wrecked.

“It looks fine, but when I bite down, it feels as if I’m going to break all my teeth,” he said.

“…But I’m glad I’m here, and I’m going to keep feeding what you take with you: those shared experiences with those you love,” he told Men’s Health. “It’s eternal, and you take it with you.”

There’s no indication whether Disney will take up HAWKEYE again, but it’s certainly on the table for Renner.
