Jeremy Renner Doesn’t Want to ‘Squander’ Life After Snow Plow Accident: ‘Give Back’

Since his snowplow accident at the beginning of the year, AVENGERS actor Jeremy Renner has been undergoing numerous types of therapy to recover.

“I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since Jan 14th,” Renner wrote on Instagram. “Countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, iv drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chambers 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on.”

“My greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…Be exceptional…I feel it’s my duty to do so,” he continued. “Not to squander my life being spared, but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure. I thank you all.”

Renner’s near-death accident occurred when he stepped in front of his Sno-Cat snowplow to save his nephew from being run over. As he attempted to stop the 14,330-pound machine, he was dragged under. Renner sustained injuries that included eight broken ribs, two broken ankles, a broken tibia, a broken clavicle, a broken shoulder and more.

Amazingly, the actor was discharged from the hospital only two weeks after the accident, already on the road to recovery. And just over two months later, he walked the red carpet for the release of his Disney+ show, RENNERVATIONS, with only the assistance of a cane.

“I was really adamant about them not pushing [the world premiere] while there was momentum with the brass at Disney,” Renner told Variety during the release of his show. “I look a little beat up right now, but I promise you this show is what’s propelling me to get better and makes me want to get better every day.”

“I set out a goal to be walking this carpet,” he continued, “and here I am enjoying it. Otherwise, it would have gone to an abyss with no date and lost traction and excitement and I would have been very, very, very frustrated. I’m very excited right now because we’re here.”

Since meeting that goal of walking the red carpet in mid-March, Renner has shifted his focus to music, creating an album about his recovery journey. Last month, he revealed an upcoming album, “Love and Titanium,” which will take his fans through the pain and joy of his recovery process.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Actor Jeremy Renner recently announced that he will release music that marks “different milestones” from his snowplow accident.

“A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year,” Renner wrote on Instagram. “Love and Titanium has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create. I hope I get the courage to share with you all.”

In a recent interview with ABC News, Renner explained the meaning behind the album’s title, “Love And Titanium.”

“I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience,” he said. “But I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”
