AVENGERS Star Evacuates Nevada Home as Wildfires Rage

HAWKEYE star Jeremy Renner is sharing updates from his Lake Tahoe home as wildfires force him and others to evacuate.
Renner shared a series of photos to his Instagram story — one featured clouds of smoke over the mountains with the caption “evacuated” with prayer hand emojis, while another, with “from my driveway” written under it, showed a fire truck on Renner’s property.
“When the wind shifts it’s either really good or really bad,” the actor wrote in another story. Renner also shared videos of a plane dumping fire retardant chemicals on the flames, as well as a fire truck driving past clouds of smoke.
He made sure to update his followers and tell them he and his family were “evacuated and safe,” thanking Truckee Meadows Firefighters for their help.
Wildfires are currently blazing across California and Nevada, with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo declaring a state of emergency.
“State agencies are working diligently to support local partners as we mitigate and eliminate this fire together,” he posted to X. “Please continue to listen to the guidance of local authorities and exercise caution.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom has also declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County.
“I thank President Biden for his swift approval of support for the work of our firefighters and first responders battling this fire and protecting local communities,” he said in a statement. “It’s critical that residents in the impacted areas remain vigilant and prepare to evacuate immediately if called for by local authorities.”
CNN reported that, as of Sunday, the wildfire has consumed 20,552 acres and “has more than quadrupled in size since Saturday morning.”
“More than 1,800 fire personnel are battling the wildfire, which was 3% contained as of Monday morning,” the outlet continued. “The blaze has injured three people, though authorities have not released any details about the extent of injuries.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Renner:
A much stronger Jeremy Renner recounted the horrific moment when he was crushed by a snowplow.
In an interview with Men’s Health, Renner recalled the accident that happened in January 2023, when his foot got caught and pulled his body under the 14,000-pound machine.
“It undulates because there’s four sections of tires with these metal tracks — it pulls it like a tank. I remember every undulation,” the AVENGERS actor said. “I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just pressing on me — it’s exactly like you think it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something’s gotta give.”
Renner is grateful his head didn’t crack under all the pressure.
“Thank God my skull didn’t fully give,” he said.
