‘My Heart Is Heavy’: Candace Cameron Bure Is Praying for Haiti and Afghanistan
By Movieguide® Staff
Actress Candace Cameron Bure says she is turning to the Lord in prayer over the devastation in both Haiti and Afghanistan.
“Hey there. I’m popping on in person because there’s so much heaviness on my heart with what’s going on in Afghanistan and Haiti, the vaccine, just all the division and hate,” Bure said on Instagram. “I’m just praying, and my heart is heavy.”
The world events have dampened the actress’ excitement for her upcoming movie, AURORA TEAGARDEN MYSTERIES: HONEYMOON, HONEYMURDER.
“And at the same time, I have a job, and I have a movie coming out on Sunday, and I know this sounds like an awkward transition, but you’re gonna see my feed all full of promotional stuff,” she added.
Bure assured fans that she was fulfilling an obligation by promoting her new movie and did not want to be insensitive to global events.
“I just wanted to come on here and say it’s just weird because we all have to work and do our job, and that’s part of my job. And at the same time, it feels odd promoting stuff with such heaviness in the world,” Bure said. “So, I’m not unaware of how insensitive or awkward it may look at times to be talking about a movie or clothing.”
“I still want my feed to always be a happy place that you can come and kind of get a break from the world,” she continued.
Bure starred in a Hallmark movie last Christmas called IF ONLY I HAD CHRISTMAS and has become a staple for the channel. However, Bure’s priority is her faith and her family.

The FULLER HOUSE and FINDING NORMAL star recently appeared on “The Lucas Miles Show,” where she spoke about the importance of defining both self and purpose, encouraging people to remember that the world’s standards might differ from your own.
“The truth is: you have to know who you are. You have to know whose you are,” she said. “You have to know that before you walk out into the world, because the world is going to try to tell you what it thinks you should be.”
Bure said she believes each person must ask important questions of him or herself, including, “What’s your ‘why?'” and “What’s the purpose?” when it comes to one’s motivation in life.
“When I think of my purpose, I’m thinking about my life purpose. My life purpose as a Christian is to glorify God in all I do,” she said to rousing applause.
And she wasn’t done there, as she went on to emphasize the importance of “purpose.”
“I wasn’t put on the earth to be the best actress I can be,” Bure continued. “My purpose is to glorify God, but God gave me a talent and I get to use those talents … to produce content that can turn back and glorify God.”
