(B, C, L, S, VV) In this biblical expose of rap music that nonetheless contains some foul language, suggestive dress, sexual innuendo, and violence (Of course, all of this is essential to the issue at hand).
More Detail:
ALL RAPPED UP is a timely and exhaustively researched expose of the modern rap and dance music scene. A follow up to Reel to Real Ministries five-part series HELLS BELLS: THE DANGERS OF ROCK N’ ROLL, this educational presentation gives a Christian perspective on the darkness that pervades the contemporary music industry. Without being dogmatic or condescending, our host, Eric Holmberg, uses clear examples from music videos and a compassionate narrative to compel the viewer to re-examine the powerful effects of music in our society, especially the misguided messages inherent in contemporary lyrics that have a negative spiritual and psychological effect on our children and teenagers. The video begins with a short disclaimer wherein the producers acknowledge that they are not trying to limit any musicians right to artistic expression or the marketing of that expression. Eric’s mission is not a call to ban rap music, but rather a plea to listeners to open their minds to the possibility that this music is indoctrinating society with anti-Christian messages and presenting role models who indulge in immoral and hedonistic lifestyles. This video is a wake-up call for people to be saved and listen to the message of Jesus, rather than to be seduced by the erotic imagery of Hammer, Ice T, Janet Jackson, and countless other musicians. Overall, ALL RAPPED UP makes an extremely compelling case for the negative impact that music is having on our society, and suggests that the church can be part of the solution.
