Marvel Star Teams Up with Hallow to Lead You in Prayer This Lent
By Movieguide® Contributor
Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg and Jonathan Roumie are teaming up for the Hallow app’s upcoming prayer challenge.
“This Lent, Hallow will once again launch its Lent Pray40 prayer challenge, beginning on Ash Wednesday,” the app’s website reads. “Drawing on the incredible writings of St. Josemaría Escrivá, author of ‘The Way,’ we’ll follow Jesus into deeper faith every day this Lent.”
The site continued, “As we meditate on the lives of those who follow Christ, we’ll see that despite the noise and distraction of today, Jesus died on the cross so that we might experience His love, His peace, and, ultimately, eternal life. We need only to follow His Way.”
“Our Lenten challenge is always our biggest challenge of the year,” Hallow CEO and co-founder Alex Jones told Church Leaders. “It’s an honor to get to pray with so many incredible voices and our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.”

Along with Pratt, Wahlberg and Roumie, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Sr. Miriam James, S.O.L.T., and Cardinal Robert Sarah will also be taking part in the challenge.
Roumie will guide users “through powerful reflections and prayers on ‘The Way’ and ‘A Song for Nagasaki’ during the week,” per a Facebook post, while Wahlberg will lead them “in fasting, discipline, and surrender to push us closer to the way Jesus set before us.”
“The Way,” written by St. Josemaría Escrivá, is a guide for meditation and prayer. “A Song for Nagasaki” is the story of atomic bomb survivor Takashi Nagai.
“Mark will be joined on Fridays by one of the most outspoken Christians in Hollywood [Chris Pratt] as we draw inspiration from Scripture to give our hearts fully to Christ,” the post continued.
Hallow’s Lent Pray40 prayer challenge begins March 5 on Ash Wednesday.
