Jenny Marrs knows the power of the Word of God, and the FIXER TO FABULOUS star makes sure it’s the foundation of every home she works on.

“Years ago, we started a tradition of praying over each room and writing scriptures on the walls of our new builds and renovations prior to paint day,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her and her family writing Bible verses on the unfinished walls of homes. “It’s one of my favorite ways to bless a home.”

This practice is especially meaningful as she and her family faced unexpected tragedy recently.

“As we continue to work on one of the renovations for this season, our family took some time today to pray and record God’s word on the walls of this special place,” she said. “This one is incredibly unique.”

Marrs explained that in the middle of renovating for a friend and his wife, the friend unexpectedly died.

“We don’t understand the timing of this loss or why this project happened right now,” she continued before quoting Lamentations 3:21: “And yet I still dare to hope.”

She concluded, “God gave me the word ‘delight’ at the start of this year and, despite the murkiness in our understanding, we have to trust that, just like the wildflowers that sprung up outside after the spring rain, there are good seeds planted in this soil that will eventually surprise and delight us. 🙏🤍”

People in the comment section were touched by Marrs’ words.

“At some point, the ‘why’ will become clear. And perhaps this act of praying and writing inside the walls of these special homes is part of that why. ❤️” one follower said. Another person added, “Such a beautiful practice. Jesus is the foundation and the walls of all that He is building through you!”

FIXER TO FABULOUS is currently on filming its seventh season, and last week the team shared their first reveal of the season. They announced the exciting milestone on Instagram, adding, “We can’t wait to show you everything we’ve been working on (this really is going to be such a fun season)!”

Despite the success of their show, the Marrs family has been navigating a season of grief. In addition to losing their friend, they also lost a beloved animal recently.

In an Instagram story, Marrs previously shared, “I found our sweet [sheep] Mary in the pasture. We lost her unexpectedly. I was just out with the animals last night and everyone seemed healthy.”

Despite the grief, Marrs and her family find comfort in Jesus.

“God instructs us to ‘Celebrate and Remember’ in the 13th chapter of Exodus and that’s what we did last night,” she said, addressing their friend’s death while also celebrating her and husband Dave’s wedding anniversary. “We remembered the two giddy kids who vowed to love one another through both the hard and happy times twenty years ago. We remembered all that God has done for us and through us over the past two decades.”

This is such a great reminder for anyone going through a difficult time that when things are hard, look back and remember all the good things God has done. He is faithful.
