It’s UPlift Someone Day for UPtv. How Will You Celebrate?

A new report from UP Entertainment revealed the most uplifting cities in the country based on how optimistic and spiritual its residents are.
Greenwood, MS; Joplin, MO; Buffalo, NY; and Albuquerque, NM are the most uplifting cities within their respective regions.
“Among the DMA data levels for the US (excluding the top 20), the most uplifting cities within each census region were selected based on having the highest percentage of residents who say they are an optimist and consider themselves a spiritual person,” the report explains. “Also, they are willing to volunteer their time for a good cause and agree they are generally friendly and generous.”
The report is part of UP Entertainment’s 20th anniversary celebration. To further encourage uplifting acts, the company designated Oct. 30 as National Uplift Someone Day through the National Archives.
“When we launched UP Entertainment with Gospel Music Channel (now UPtv) on October 30, 2004, our mission was to uplift others through quality entertainment,” said Charley Humbard, Founder and CEO of UP Entertainment. “Now 20 years later, as creators of the genre of Uplifting Entertainment, we are ensuring that our purpose reaches beyond the television screen into communities nationwide to give back and Uplift Someone by establishing October 30 as a National Day of Recognition. Whether it’s opening a door for someone, sending a thank you note, or volunteering, I encourage everyone to participate in ways big and small to make a difference for someone else.”
UP Entertainment shared a list of ideas for how to uplift people in your community. The ideas included: Complimenting a stranger, checking in with friends or family that you haven’t seen recently, donating to a food bank, offering to do yard work for a neighbor and including a kind note with your tip next time you eat at a restaurant.
