“Cat’s in the Cradle” follows the Boss Baby with his team and his older brother Tim, as the Templetons allow a stray kitten into their home as a pet. Boss Baby hopes to get the kitten out of the house. Both characters spend the duration of the episode trying to place blame on the other to win the sole affection of Boss Baby’s parents. The rivalry between the kitten and Boss Baby concludes as they get into a brief physical tussle inside the house. Tim saves Boss Baby. Afterwards, the parents choose to get rid of the kitten, and Boss Baby is victorious.
At the end of “Cat’s in the Cradle,” Tim reminds Boss Baby that family means “someone’s always got your back.” Then, a video message alerts Tim and Boss Baby about a man named Bootsie Calico. Bootsie set up the interaction between the parents and the kitten to make cats a dominant force in the world, and his nefarious plan is just getting started. . .
