GOD’S NOT DEAD 2’s Jesse Metcalfe Joins GAC for New Movie

Jessica Lowndes and Jesse Metcalfe are joining GAC Family to star in HARMONY FROM THE HEART, due out in February of next year.
The movie tells the story of Violet (played by Lowndes) who has a chance to get her dream job of music therapist at a local hospital. There is one obstacle: Violet’s department chair Professor Carver will prevent her from graduating unless she successfully rehabilitates a patient to speak again in only two weeks. The patient is the professor’s beloved brother, Charles. Complicating matters is Blake Williams (played by Metcalfe), a local heart surgeon and Charles’ grandson, who is skeptical about the effectiveness of musical therapy. Feeling the pressure to work a miracle, Violet uses music to tell the story of Charles’ life, and he begins to progress. Violet and Blake also start to progress, opening their hearts to each other.
In addition to starring in the movie, Lowndes wrote the movie and will serve as an executive producer. She will also perform several original songs in the movie, which she wrote and produced, as well.
The movie is being made by GAC Family, a family-oriented channel. The company’s CEO, Bill Abbott, was previously head of Crown Media Family Networks, parent of Hallmark Channel. This explains why so many familiar faces from our favorite Hallmark movies are popping up in GAC Family films.
Hallmark stars Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan have both signed deals with the network, and WHEN CALLS THE HEART stars Lori Loughlin and Daniel Lissing have reunited for the return of spinoff WHEN HOPE CALLS on GAC Family.
In a previous interview, Abbott said, “At GAC, we’re focused on creating strong brands, compelling programming and a consistent family friendly viewing experience across multiple genres. HARMONY FROM THE HEART will air at 8 P.M. ET, February 12 on GAC Family.
Metcalfe previously appeared in GOD’S NOT DEAD 2, which was nominated for Movieguide®’s Epiphany Prize. He’s also set to star in another upcoming faith-based movie, ON A WING AND A PRAYER, with Dennis Quaid.
