Actress Alexa PenaVega is not shy about sharing her Christian and pro-life beliefs. But she admits there was a time that she was more afraid to until she found a group of like-minded people.
“So there are a handful of people in our industry that share very similar values and very similar feelings,” PenaVega told the pro-life organization Live Action when asked if other celebrities approached her privately saying that they hold the same pro-life views.
PenaVega said that community of people that shared her faith emboldened her.
“I remember back in the day, I wouldn’t even be able to say Jesus because I was afraid of speaking about Jesus, but when I started hanging around like-minded people, I realized I wasn’t alone,” the SPY KIDS star went on to say. “If you’re afraid of stepping forward, get an amazing community around you, and that will change everything.”
The mom of four shared in another interview more of what it means to stand up for the unborn and the mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.

“So many of these women just want to be embraced. They feel lost and alone,”she told Lila Rose, president of Live Action. “They don’t feel like there’s anywhere else to go, their boyfriends or husbands even, like, somebody might be pushing for it, and that’s not even something that they want to do.”
“They just need to know that they have people rallying behind them,” the actress added.
PenaVega rebutted the pro-choice argument that the pro-life movement just cares about babies up until their born.
“They want to help you after you’ve given birth. It is a true family. It’s a community. It’s a warm embrace. There are so many beautiful organizations like yours [Live Action] that see women through long after birth and help their children, help them, help their family situation. And it does take a community.”
The Miami native is not only bold about her stance against abortion but also her faith, as she shares her words of biblical encouragement on social media.
She recently posted this prayer in Instagram that reads:
Jesus we need you
Stir up love in our hearts.
Fill us with the fruits of the Spirit.
Give us faith over fear.
And abundance of grace.
May we be so consumed by your love that there isn’t room for anything else.
Bring your supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding.
May more believers rise up in their witness and their stand for the gospel and biblical truths, as PenaVega has. As Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:12, “In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”
