Influencer Brittany Lynn Lutz shared her hopes for the new year and encouraged her followers to “design” their lives with purpose.

“Happy New Year!” she said in a recent Instagram video. “It’s time for my first 10-minute tidy of the year. A virus swept through our house at Christmas time and then I threw my back out, so I haven’t been able to stay on top of things the way I usually do.”

Lutz, the wife of TWILIGHT actor Kellan Lutz, continued, “I just wanted to encourage you to never underestimate what you can do in ten to fifteen minute spurts throughout the day. It helps things not get out of hand.”

“May this be the year that you design your life instead of just letting life happen to you,” she finished.

In her caption, Lutz wrote, “May this be the year you set yourself up for peace. May you think about the you that will wake up tomorrow and show her the same love you show the you of today! That mindset shift has changed my life and I’ll never go back!”

She shared some more of her hopes for 2026 in another Instagram post, writing that the word she wants to focus on this year is “create.”

“When it dropped into my spirit it surprised me!” Lutz wrote. “But towards the end of 2025 the Lord has been allowing a lot to come up from the depths so I can confront it all, many things for the first time.”

She explained that she has “always been a creative person,” but over the last ten years, her “life has filled up with so many other incredible things and experiences.”

“But I can see now that God never meant for the former things to stop,” Lutz wrote. “He wants us to continue to grow, but that doesn’t always mean we’re supposed to grow out of the things He placed in our heart in a previous season.”

She wrote, “I want to create a memorable childhood for my kids. I want to create a safe space for my husband to lay his head at the end of a busy day. I want to create a household where the presence of God rests. I want to create a life that I don’t need a break from.”

Lutz often shares her thoughts on the importance of following God’s plan, even when it differs from what you might have envisioned for yourself.

“Never take a chance before you check in with God. But if He gives the ok, jump in with both feet! I NEVER wanted to date an actor let alone marry one and here I am,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Sometimes the best things in life take you by surprise! Be open to a plan other than your own and a picture that looks different than the one you’ve painted for your life. You may just end up happier than you ever thought you could be.”

As we kick off 2026, Lutz’s words about living an intentional life are a great guide to get off to a good start in the new year.
