Netflix’s SPY KIDS reboot announced that Gina Rodriguez and Grace Prize® nominee, both of the Movieguide® Award-winning THE STAR will join YES DAY’s Everly Carganilla, and newcomer Connor Esterson.

“My career has been full of so many incredible surprises and gifts, and the hits just keep on comin!” Levi posted to Instagram. “What a dream come true to collaborate with the great and powerful @rodriguez, a man who has shaped the Austin film scene AND this incredible genre! But more than that, to FINALLY team up with mi hermana @hereisgina after literal years of friendship is just the dreamiest. 🥰 @everlyeverywhere@connoresterson, it’s an honor to be your movie spy-dad. I’ll do my best to steer ya right. 🙏 And as always, a massive thank you to my friends at @netflix and @skydance for seeing fit to bring me into the family. Now, let’s go save the world, shall we?”

Deadline’s synopsis of the movie reads:

This latest Spy Kids chapter is set after the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful game developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, leading them to become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.

The reboot is, hopefully, welcome news of a family-friendly movie among a slew of salacious content.

Movieguide® has honored the previous SPY KIDS movies at our annual Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry, as some of the best movies for families.

The review for the most recent installment in the franchise, SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD, reads

The new SPY KIDS movie, ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD, breathes new life into the franchise. Jessica Alba plays retired spy Marissa Wilson, the aunt of the spy kids in the previous movies, who have grown up. Because she’s retired, with a new baby no less, Marissa hasn’t told her husband and her two stepchildren that she was a spy. Marissa is suddenly called back into action when a new villain called the Timekeeper appears. The Timekeeper is angry at the world, especially families, for squandering time and is trying to steal it back. Marissa’s two stepchildren become the new Spy Kids when their stepmother gets in trouble and needs their help.

SPY KIDS 4 is fantastic fun. Robert Rodriguez, the creator of the SPY KIDS franchise, reinvents his series by adding new gags and new gadgets. He also creates a clever plot twist in the third act that adds some deeper layers to the movie’s theme of spending more time with your family. SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD is well worth seeing, even if you and your family have seen all the other SPY KIDS movies.
