CNN’s Chris Cuomo Mocks Scripture, Attacks Marco Rubio’s Christian Faith
By Movieguide® Staff
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo openly berated Sen. Marco Rubio for his Christian faith on live television.
The CUOMO PRIME TIME host called Rubio “Bible boy” and mocked him for often quoting scripture: “[He has] a Bible quote for every moment.”
Although Cuomo grew up Catholic, this did not deter his ridicule of the conservative senator and others who believe the Bible to be the Word of God — including President Donald Trump.
“Look, Trump, I believe, will be remembered as the worst,” Cuomo said. “We’ve never seen anybody abuse the office the way he has — not in our lifetime. But the people, those who remain, the Kevin McCarthys, the people in the House, the people in the Senate. … The man he called Lyin’ Ted, the man he called Little Marco, Mr. Bible Boy.
“You know, he’s got a Bible quote for every moment,” Cuomo continued.

Rubio, who is known for posting Bible verses on his social media, responded to Cuomo on Twitter: “The verses I tweet are usually the ones chosen by the Catholic Church for that day’s Mass. But the fact he thinks words written thousands of years ago are relevant to current events proves the Bible isn’t just a book, it’s the Word of God.”

While Cuomo claims to be Catholic, this is not the first time he has openly mocked faith in God.
Movieguide® previously reported: “CNN’s Chris Cuomo ended a recent program telling viewers that America doesn’t need God; that what we need is within us. ‘If you believe in one another and if do the right thing for yourself and your community, things will get better in this country. You don’t need help from above. It’s within us,’ he said while pointing a finger to the sky.”
